The trip begins\u00a0at the Concannon\u00a0vineyards on the outskirts of Livermore, and proceeds for 30 miles, past horse ranches, sycamore-lined creeks, pine\/oak woodlands and chaparral-covered hillsides. It is wild and beautiful country, with a legendary assortment of birds, such as Golden Eagles, Yellow-billed Magpies, Phainopeplas,\u00a0Roadrunners, orioles, owls, woodpeckers, songbirds of all kinds and many raptors.\u00a0Bring drinks or lunch, or buy one at the Junction Caf\u00e9. This is an all-day tour, primarily roadside birding, with very little walking.
