May 2, 9am-12pm <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Tucked away in southeastern Alameda County, Sunol is one of the wildest and most beautiful of Alameda\u2019s parklands, far from towns and highways. It is also bisected by crystalline Alameda Creek, teeming with songbirds of all kinds, such as phoebes, wrens, orioles, nuthatches, warblers and Western tanagers. High dramatic crags have Golden eagles and falcons soaring overhead. Noisy (and eccentric) Acorn woodpeckers fly among oak woodlands lining the steep hillsides. Along the trails we can encounter Lazuli Buntings, Yellow-billed Magpies, Western bluebirds, Nuttall\u2019s Woodpeckers and many others. One word sums it up: extraordinary.
