The Elkhorn River mouth and coastline have a great variety of pelicans, ducks, shorebirds and terns, plus raptors, cormorants, grebes and occasionally owls. On one memorable trip we were treated to a Sea Otter mother with a baby nestled on her chest, not fifty feet away. We typically observe fifty species or more bird species. Bring (or buy at Moss Landing) lunch and drinks. Walking is at a casual pace, about two miles. Excellent photo opportunities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Sat.
