Through historical dramas and satires such as <em>Gandhi, The Third Man, Paths of Glory<\/em> and <em>Dr. Strangelove<\/em>, major issues of the last century have been brought to life by great film-makers. This semester films about the 1960\u2019s and \u201870\u2019s will include <em>Silkwood, The Graduate, 8 1\/2, Apocalypse Now<\/em> and <em>Annie Hall<\/em> by directors such as Stanley Kubrick, Federico Fellini, Mike Nichols and Woody Allen. The lives and performances of stars such as Mastroianni, Nicholson, Keaton, Brando and Streep will be highlighted. The films interpret events of the last half of the 20th century, a period of great innovation, revolution and conflict in Western civilization.
