Coyote Hills Regional Park
July 13, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
For its size, this small regional park has a great diversity of habitat, including extensive marshes, grasslands, hills and scattered open woodlands. Consequently it has a great diversity of birds such as raptors, woodpeckers, shorebirds, wildfowl, owls and songbirds. Included are Green-wing and Cinnamon Teal, White Pelicans, Harriers, White-Tail Kites and Forster’s Terns. Songbirds such as Orioles, Marsh Wrens, Western Bluebirds and Red-wing Blackbirds are among the many songbirds seen in the summer. Great Horned Owls are resident.
