Mines Road Tour
May 11, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Mines Road is a trip through wild and rugged country into the forgotten history of Alameda. It begins near the Wente vineyards on the southwest edge of Livermore, and winds past cattle ranches, sycamore-lined creeks, pine/oak woodlands and chaparral-covered hillsides. It includes a legendary assortment of birds, such as Golden Eagles, Yellow-billed Magpies, Phainopeplas, Roadrunners, orioles, owls, woodpeckers and songbirds. Bring drinks or lunch, or buy one at the Junction Café. This tour is primarily roadside birding, with very little walking.
